Vinny Maddalone Promises Action Against Tomasz Adamek
Corey Erdman had a chance to talk with heavyweight Vinny Maddalone earlier tonight. The New York fighter takes on Tomasz Adamek at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey in the main-event of Thursday night's Integrated Sports PPV.
Here are a few snippets from the interview. For the full audio, click here.
On criticisms of his credentials an an opponent for Adamek...
"I can't let it bother me... Listen, all I can tell people is that in the heavyweight division, it only takes one shot. You land that one punch, it changes everything. Hasim Rahman knocked out Lennox Lewis. One shot changes everything..."
What problems can he present for Adamek...
"I'm going to be right in his face. I'm going to be putting pressure on him. I'm not the most skilled guy, the most talented guy, but I just want it more than other guy. The pressure I put on people wears a lot of people down. That's what I hope happens with this fight..."
Does he see anything in Adamek's style that he can exploit...
"He doesn't stay there. When he comes in, he looks to close, pot shots, throw three or four punch combinations and get out. He doesn't want to stay there. I'm going to try and make him stay there."
