Play The Boxing Bulletin's Pick'em Game
The Boxing Bulletin is starting a new easy to play pick'em game!
We've got 4 fights listed for the opening week. Simply make your selections in the comments section, and we'll tabulate the results and post the standings on Monday. Points will be added up from week to week, and the game will run for 10 weeks.
Here’s the line-up for Week 1:
1.) Manny Pacquiao vs Joshua Clottey (HBO PPV, March 13)
a.) Pick the winner
2 points for picking Pacquiao to win.
8 points for picking Clottey to win.
b.) Will Clottey win at least 4 rounds on Harold Lederman’s card?
6 points – Yes, he will - a knockout win for Clottey automatically counts as yes.
4 points – No, he won’t.
c.) Over/Under 9.5 rounds (scheduled for 12)
3 points for picking the over
7 points for picking the under
2.) Paul Smith vs Tony Dodson (Sky - UK, March 12)
Pick the winner
3 points for picking Smith to win
7 points for picking Dodson to win
3.) Humberto Soto vs David Diaz (HBO PPV - March 13)
Over/Under 9.5 rounds (scheduled for 12)
4 points for correctly picking the under
6 points for correctly picking the over
4.) Alfonso Gomez vs Jose Luis Castillo (HBO PPV - March 13)
Over/Under 8.5 rounds (scheduled for 10)
7 points for correctly picking the under
3 points for correctly picking the over
Deadline for entries including Smith vs Dodson is 4 PM EST on Friday, March 12.
Late entries can be made up until the HBO PPV starts, but obviously picks for the UK fight will not count.

you never how that loon is going to score.
He does have some odd methods, he often acknowledges that what he is doing doesn’t really make sense, or argues against it, but does it anyway!
I wouldn’t be suprised if Pac turned out to be the incredible hulk in a very good disguise. - Sigidy

You’re all going to feel foolish when Dodson pulls my seven-point upset.

I have no idea about that fight
But decided you must be on to something. Now if you’re wrong I’m not gonna be a happy man!

SC, if Dodson pulls that seven point upset you deserve a prize...
1a) Pacquiao (Clottey’s got no chance)
1b) No (But, Pacquiao does tend to muck about at the beginning)
1c) Over (just)
2) Smith (Dodson got beat by Albert Rybacki, ’nuff said)
3) Under
4) Over
Rybacki is underrated!
Dodson TKO-2!
(I just want the 7 points.)

I will root for Clottey yet I think Pacquiao will win
1 a Pacquiao
1 b Clottey should win at least 4 rounds but with Lederman’s score card I’m not so sure since Harold is blind as a bat
1 c Over this fight is going 12 rounds I don’t see a knockout victory for either fighter
3 under I say Soto will make easy work of Diaz no problem for “La Zorrita”
4 Over Gomez should be able to beat an old worn out fighter in Castillo but it won’t be as easy because Castillo is a warrior therefore I see this fight going the distance

If you do boxing math, then....
Clottey < Cotto < Pacquiao

I'm not sure that Mathematics can be applied to boxing
Well perhaps in the Pythagorean way! (not the triangles…)
I probabaly shouldn’t make Maths jokes.

No for 1 b since Lederman can't score
I don’t want to confuse my friends at Boxing Bulletin therefore my answer for 1 b is No since Lederman doesn’t know how to score
