Around the Net: Andre Ward vs Allan Green Post-Fight Edition
Andre Ward's unanimous decision victory over Allan Green was certainly in keeping with the result many expected, though the totally one-sided 120-108 across the board drubbing the Oakland fighter handed out was maybe a little surprising. The Super-Six newcomer was never in the fight, and by the mid-rounds it was clear that even the "puncher's chance" Green was given heading in, was something Ward was never going to fall victim to.
Let's take a look at some of the post-fight analysis from around the blogs...
Andre Ward vs Allan Green Preview
Michael Nelson previews tonight's Super-Six match-up between Andre Ward and Allan Green.
Nine months after Kenny Kost made him do a shimmy along the ropes, a Darnell Boone right hand stiffened Andre Ward's legs and planted him on the canvas. Ward got up on shaky legs, survived the remainder of the round, and edged the fight. But in the eyes of the boxing world, he was exposed as another amateur star who lacked the chin and the toughness to be successful in the pro game.
What a difference five years can make. After becoming an extended reclamation project, Ward stands as the favorite to win the Super Six tournament. He passed his first real test before the tournament by beating up dangerous, but shop-worn Edison Miranda. Then he surpassed everyone's expectations by thoroughly outboxing super middleweight titan Mikkel Kessler.

There's little doubt that Ward is the better overall fighter, but Green's left hook gives him a puncher's chance. Let's take a look at what the bloggers have to say about the match-up...
